Four types of barriers to meet all your needs
Martel-LT Events ensures the smooth flow of your public and private events in Nice and along the French Riviera by offering solutions tailored to each logistical setup.
Vauban Barriers
A lightweight, removable barrier that can be moved by hand, designed to quickly create spaces and manage foot traffic. Standard equipment for parades, marathons, official events, and the demarcation of entertainment areas. Installed along all the major parade routes of the Nice Carnival and on the Tour de France routes.
Heras Barriers
A reinforced construction barrier—taller and heavier—ideal for enhanced security, fencing off a site during setup, or demarcating backstage and technical areas. Regularly used at summer festivals and major sporting events such as the Ironman World Championship in Nice and the Jul concert at Base Nature in Fréjus.
Blackout panels
Solid black panels mounted on a metal frame, used to visually cordon off paid public areas or VIP zones. Used in ticketed events (festivals, large-scale concerts) and at product launches where the visual must remain confidential until the reveal.
White barriers
A premium format, more aesthetically pleasing than the classic Vauban, designed for prestigious events: high-end weddings, galas, corporate events, and luxury brand fan zones. A regular choice for LVMH, Chanel, Rolex, and Vilebrequin events on the French Riviera.
Traffic Management and Safety: Our Applications
Barrier installation is more than just setting up a straight line. Effective traffic management is based on four principles that we apply at every job site.
- Segregation of crowds: separate corridors for entry, exit, VIPs, staff, and emergency personnel.
- Checkpoints and screening stations: waiting areas organized in a zigzag pattern to streamline access controls.
- Evacuation routes: compliance with regulatory evacuation widths, directional signage, and accessibility for emergency responders.
- Intrusion protection: Héras or privacy panels along the perimeter, Vauban barriers inside, and anti-ram weights at vehicle access points if required.
Our site managers work closely with public safety officials and event organizers to approve the barrier plan before installation. We also provide the technical documents required for the public access safety file.

More than one kilometer of shelf space available
Our inventory includes more than 1,000 linear meters of barriers of all types, stored in our 6,000 m² warehouse in La Trinité. This capacity allows us to provide seamless support for the largest events on the French Riviera: the Nice Carnival Parade requires several hundred meters of Vauban and Héras barriers; the Ironman World Championship in Nice covers the entire race course with a combination of Vauban barriers and privacy panels; and SailGP in Saint-Tropez uses white barriers to secure access to the official village.
Why are our barriers used at major events on the French Riviera?
Three key strengths. First, availability: 1,000 meters in stock just ten minutes from Nice, ready for quick delivery. Second, the expertise of our teams, who receive ongoing training in event safety standards. Finally, our on-the-ground knowledge: our site managers are well-versed in the specific constraints of locations along the French Riviera (Place Masséna, Promenade des Anglais, the Port of Nice, sites in Monaco, castles, and beaches) and know how to adapt the barrier plan to local conditions.

Frequently asked questions
Find answers to the most common questions about renting and installing safety barriers for your events.
Which barrier should you choose to ensure safety at a public event?
For crowd control and traffic management, the Vauban barrier is sufficient. For enhanced perimeter security or to enclose a sensitive site, choose Héras barriers. For paid or confidential areas, add privacy panels. Combining these three product lines covers 95% of public event setups. Our site managers will review the plan with your security manager.
How many meters of barriers should be provided for an event with 1,000 people?
The total length depends on the event format (static or traveling), the number of entrances, and the nature of the site. As a general guideline, allow for 200 to 400 linear meters for a static event with 1,000 attendees and two entry points, and 600 to 1,000 meters for a traveling event or a multi-stage festival. A preliminary site survey will determine the exact requirements.
Are the barriers compatible with an ERP security file?
Yes. We provide the technical documents required for the ERP safety filing: technical specifications for the barriers, layout plan, linear measurement calculations, and emergency exit and access points. Our site managers regularly work with the safety committees of municipalities along the French Riviera.
Do you deliver and install the barriers?
Yes. Our teams handle delivery from our warehouse in La Trinité, on-site setup according to the approved plan, technical support during the event if necessary, and takedown at the end of the event. This has been our core business since the 1960s.
Can we rent white barriers for a wedding or a high-end event?
Yes. The white barriers are designed specifically for high-end events: luxury weddings, galas, and fan zones for luxury brands. More aesthetically pleasing than the classic Vauban model, they blend seamlessly into a premium setting. We regularly set them up for LVMH, Chanel, Rolex, and Vilebrequin on the French Riviera.
